AV Equipment Technician



About the Role:


Storm Events is a growing events company providing professional sound, lighting, video, and staging solutions. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality production and maintaining an extensive stock of AV equipment.

We are now looking for a hands-on, reliable AV Equipment Technician to join our warehouse team. This role could suit someone with a background in electronics, engineering, or AV maintenance -- whether you're looking for a full-time career role or more flexible part-time work.

Main Responsibilities:



You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, inspection, and organisation of our equipment stock, ensuring it is safe, fully operational, and ready for deployment. This includes carrying out PAT testing, logging and managing repairs, and assisting the team in preparing kit for events.

Key responsibilities:



Diagnose, repair, and maintain AV equipment including audio, lighting, video, rigging, and power distribution. Carry out PAT testing of event and production equipment, keeping accurate records. Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all stock. Log faults and repairs in the company's inventory system. Liaise with third-party service providers for specialist or warranty repairs. Manage the flow of kit to and from repair, ensuring turnaround aligns with event schedules. Maintain a safe and organised workshop/warehouse environment.

About You:



Practical experience in repairing or maintaining professional AV, sound, lighting, or video equipment. Knowledge of electrical safety and PAT testing (certification useful -- training provided if needed). Background in electronics, engineering, or technical maintenance is highly valued. Comfortable working independently and taking initiative. Detail-focused, reliable, and safety-conscious. Good organisational skills and able to keep accurate records. Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturers such as Roland, Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Shure, Martin, Avolites, etc. is a bonus.
