AVIATION SECURITY OFFICERS
30 (NIGHTS) & 40 HOUR CONTRACTS AVAILABLE
Reporting to the Terminal Team Leader and Terminal Supervisor, the main responsibilities and duties include:
Comply with the Airport Security Programme and Standing Orders.
Work as part of the airport Security team to ensure the safety of aircraft, passengers and staff.
Carry out full and effective searches of people, baggage and vehicles.
Operate x-ray equipment to screen all baggage passing through the airport.
Report all equipment defects and procedural deficiencies according to established reporting procedures.
Undertake routine Security patrols and control access into restricted areas of the airport.
Interaction with passengers and staff members.
Carry out various Security and Customer Services functions.
Key skills required:

Ability to learn and follow set procedures.
Flexibility, friendliness and willingness to help.
Well-motivated, good team player.
Level 1 Aviation Ground Security Operatives training an advantage, but not essential, as training is provided.
Well-developed communications and customer service skills.
Initial contracts would be on a 6-month probationary period with a view to a permanent contract which will include some weekend working, early morning, evening shifts and night shifts, based on a rotating 3 on 3 off shift roster, dependent upon contractual hours. Night shift hours would be 21:00 until 05:30, based on a rotating 3 on, 3 off shift roster. Employment is subject to successfully clearing background checks, a full medical including drug testing, colour perception checks and successful completion of training.
The Security department provides security services for the airport site, including airport buildings and adjacent airside and landside areas, as well as providing a wide range of support services for customers. We provide full training for these roles and while there is lots of learning, the team will ensure you develop the skills you need to be the best. We have an ongoing requirement for flexible, customer service driven individuals who pride themselves on providing first class service to our customers on their journey through the airport.
