Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud computing and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud services and contribute to the development of innovative cloud-based applications.

Duties

Design and implement cloud architecture using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure. Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Docker. Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, or Go. Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git. Monitor cloud services for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Implement service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles in application development. Work with APIs to integrate various web services and applications. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of cloud systems. Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for cloud-based applications. Troubleshoot issues related to virtualisation technologies such as VMware and OpenStack.

Qualifications

Proven experience in cloud computing environments with a focus on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and service models including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Proficiency in container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes. Familiarity with databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or NoSQL solutions. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, JavaScript) and configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet). Knowledge of operating systems including Linux and Windows environments. Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful web services. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Relevant certifications in cloud technologies are advantageous but not required.
