Role Overview
We're seeking an
AWS Data Engineer
with 3-5 years of experience to join our growing EMEA delivery team. You will design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines on AWS, working on data ingestion, transformation, and analytics solutions that underpin Cloudwick's enterprise-grade platforms such as
Amorphic
and customer-specific data modernisation projects.
You'll work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, data scientists, and BI specialists to enable end-to-end data journeys -- from raw data ingestion to actionable insights via tools like Glue, Redshift, and QuickSight.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable
data pipelines
for batch and streaming workloads using AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda, and Step Functions.
Implement
data ingestion
from structured and unstructured sources (S3, RDS, DynamoDB, APIs, on-premise databases, etc.).
Build and manage
ETL/ELT processes
using Glue Studio, PySpark, or AWS DataBrew for data preparation and transformation.
Develop and optimise
data models
in Redshift and Athena to support analytical and reporting needs.
Integrate with
data catalogues and governance frameworks
using AWS Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, and Amorphic metadata services.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement
CI/CD pipelines
for data workflows using CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and Terraform.
Ensure
data quality, performance tuning, and cost efficiency
across AWS services.
Support the setup of
QuickSight dashboards
and APIs for downstream analytics and AI use cases.
Participate in
design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning
, following agile best practices.
Work with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot data issues and optimise solutions for scale.
Required Skills & Experience
3-5 years
of experience as a Data Engineer working with AWS cloud-based data solutions.
Strong programming skills in
data warehousing, SQL performance tuning, and schema design.
Understanding of
ETL/ELT principles
, data partitioning, and lakehouse architectures.
Hands-on experience with
Terraform or CloudFormation
for IaC.
Familiarity with
Git
,
CI/CD pipelines
, and
Agile delivery
methods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to scalability and performance.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
