Azure Site Reliability Engineer

SALARY: \xc2\xa366,861 - \xc2\xa381,719 LOCATION: Halifax (We\'re flexible on location and can also consider candidates based out of Bristol, Manchester, Leeds & Edinburgh) HOURS: Full time WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days per week) in an office site

Here\'s how you\'ll make a difference:

Delivering against Azure and Cloud-technology roadmaps. Collaboratively working with other engineering teams to build and release enterprise-class solutions that progress the programme\'s roadmap. You\'ll Maintain, support & improve our Public Cloud platforms using SRE principles including some 24x7 standby requirements.

What you\'d get involved with:

Continuous iteration of our Infrastructure as a Code & pipeline based product catalogue, responding to change, implementing enhancements & improvements to the platform reliability.

You\'ll maintain the evergreen nature of our platform, ensuring our platform remains current.

You\'ll Investigate, fix and remove service issues with an engineering attitude, also implementing further automation and reducing toil, utilising new & existing Cloud products

What you\'ll need

Essential:

  • Strong DevOps understanding, "Infrastructure as Code" using technology like Azure DevOps CI/ CD pipelines, ARM templates, blueprints etc.
  • Experience in developing DevOps pipelines, delivering automation of infrastructure or applications.
  • Strong understanding in four or more Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes clusters , API management, Application gateway, Virtual machines, Virtual networks, Network security groups, load balancer, express route etc.
  • Ability to write scripts in languages such as PowerShell, BASH, BICEP and so on
  • Experience with solving problems and troubleshooting, fixing and resolving issues
Desirable:
  • Experience working with a broad set of Public Cloud technologies and services.
  • Leadership experience including line management, squad leadership, mentoring and task management
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Security tools such as Microsoft Defender for cloud, Azure policies, Sentinel etc.
  • Strong understanding and proven use of source control practice as part of an engineering team
  • Recent practical experience using SDKs and APIs to deliver automation.
  • Demonstrates a passion to continue to learn and develop your engineering skills
  • Training or certifications in any cloud platform; Azure, GCP, AWS

  • Ability to work effectively with architectural, business and other specialists to shape, design and engineer solutions.
  • Able to work with a team of engineers to deliver domain-owned deliverables and dependencies.
  • Continuous curiosity to learn and develop themselves with industry standard methodology and tooling in the cloud function.
  • Technology agnostic and willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution.
