Role: B2 Licenced Engineer



Location: Prestwick



Hours: 07:00 - 19:00 (5,5,4 shifts)



Salary: DOE



Job Purpose



Reporting to the Check Manager the Base Certifier will carry certification on the zones/Area of the aircraft assigned to the individual.

The role is based in the Base Station environment dependent of where the role is required. The normal working week does not exceed 40 hours based on shifts relevant to the operation. There may be occasions due to operational reasons where it is necessary to work outside of these hours.

Job Accountabilities



To carry out certification of work carried out in accordance with the scope and privileges of the authorisation held and in accordance with the MOE. Supervise staff, in conjunction with a leading mechanic, allocated to the aircraft or zone that the Certifying engineer is accountable for. Ensure that any significant findings that could affect the aircraft delivery are reported to the check manager as soon as possible. Ensure that work is carried out in the most efficient manner to ensure the aircraft turnaround times are met. To ensure continuity of work by completing the handover log which will be available for handover at the shift change. Ensure spares are identified and provisioned in the most time efficient manner so as to avoid any delays in rectification. Ensure the bay production boards are updated on a regular basis reflecting aircraft progress, critical items, time line and personnel. Maintain an awareness of Human Factors and ensure Health and Safety standards are of the highest possible and in line with the Company Safety Manual. Raise safety reports are raised following any incidents or identification of any hazards. Ensure that the Bay and immediate work areas are clean and tidy and that the hangar housekeeping bay audits are completed on a daily basis. Ensuring that staffs are correctly booked on to the system so that hours expended are recorded accurately. Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

Qualification & Education:



A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar.

In date typed UKCAA licence

EASA Part 66 Licence for types relevant to base (preferred)

Experience:



A UKCAA licence and appropriate company authorisation

Base maintenance experience.

Training & Knowledge:



Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.

Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning;

High standard of English language (written and oral)

High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite
