Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Practitioner to work within the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion service



Based within the Mental Health Urgent Care Sub-Directorate, we are an all age, all vulnerability service providing assessment, referral and signposting onwards. We are embedded at the heart of the criminal justice system across Coventry and Warwickshire. We work in Police Custody and Court areas, as well as health bases, alongside our key partners such as the Police, Probation Service, Youth Justice and Magistrates.



The successful applicant will be primarily supporting referrals from police custody areas within Coventry and Warwickshire, undertaking holistic assessments, identifying unmet vulnerabilities and liaising with appropriate stakeholders such as Police and Courts, other Liaison and Diversion colleagues as well as services within CWPT, the third sector and beyond to support the meeting of unmet needs and reduce the cycle of reoffending.



The successful applicant will be instrumental in regards to ensuring continued awareness of the liaison and diversion service, building relationships with partners, supporting the continued integration of the Liaison and Diversion model across all areas of the team and meeting the expectations of stakeholders.



Are you an Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/Registered Learning disability nurse, Occupational therapist or Social worker with a professional experience of mental health, neurodiversity and other associated vulnerabilities?



Are you able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality care and service provision, Have the ability to work flexibly and work as part of a multi-agency team?



Have the ability to assess and formulate risk plans?



Have enhanced communication and inter- personal skills?



And happy to be police vetted?
