Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) Team within East area of BCUHB.



You will be expected to take an active role in all phases of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation pathway. The applicant will have a high standard of clinical and communication skills, be able to work independently as well as being an excellent team player and actively engage in departmental and service development as well as regular audit and research. You will have experience of a respiratory rotation at band 6 level.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.



Working with the multidisciplinary Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team that includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapists, technical instructors, and an advanced practitioner, in the East region of BCUHB.



Main duties of the job:



To be responsible for the rehabilitation of patients with chronic respiratory diseases (across all phases of rehabilitation to include an individual assessment and post rehabilitation exit routes, outpatient classes and education as appropriate).



Working with rehabilitation teams to initiate and plan new projects to encourage development of the service and bring abou t change through the ability to evaluate own practice and that of others.



To be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality, clinically effective care and patient experience, and t o forge close links and improve communication channels with other members of primary and the health care team to maximise the effectiveness of the Rehabilitation.



To participate in clinical education and supervision for physiotherapy students, other healthcare/research students in the department, and acting as a role model and clinical resource demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership in the specialist area.



Keeping up to date with recent advances in the field of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and to promote the use of evidence based practise.
