Job Description

We have a job opportunity for an already qualified at Level 2 Nursery Practitioner to take on the role of nursery apprentice and complete their level 3 qualification. This role will be for our baby room of 3 months to 2 year old room.

Hours:

23 hours per week

All year round position -

Monday 11am-5pm / 11.30am-5.30pm / 12-6pm (depending on children's booked sessions)

Wednesday 9am-6pm

Thursday 7.45am- 6pm

(Depending on the uptake of our baby room occupancy there is a possibility of another 4 hours on Friday mornings)

The official qualification needed for this role is a full relevant Level 2 in childcare (not one completed at GCSE's as this is not the correct qualification. The level 2 must have been completed with a college or previous apprenticeship after GCSE's.)

You will need to be dynamic, have the ability to work as part of a team, and be able to use your initiative and time to manage your day effectively to ensure the smooth running of our nursery. Having worked with children before is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and to work closely with the Nursery Manager and management team.

The nursery has an excellent reputation and we want to maintain the excellent standards that the nursery has already been accredited for when we received 'Good in all areas and one area of outstanding in our last Ofsted inspection. The nursery team is working hard to strive to achieve outstanding for the next inspection.

10-12.21 per hour

Essential Requirements

(All can be obtained through nursery)

~ DBS certificate/ Clean criminal record- signed up to the renewal service

~ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

~ Paediatric First Aid certificate

~ Safeguarding children certificate

~ Full Level 2 Childcare qualification- the applicant must have already achieved their level 2 qualification

We are also looking for someone who....

Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
Preferably has a little bit of quirkiness.
Feels comfortable telling everybody in the same room as them that they are going to the toilet!
Doesn't have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
Must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work, with unknown substances on their clothing.
Must have a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions.
Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
Loves being outside come rain or shine. At Roundabout Nursery we love the great outdoors.
Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.
