We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and maintaining high standards of childcare. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young children while leading a team in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support childcare staff during your designated shift, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
Organise daily activities and routines suitable for early childhood development programmes
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management regarding children's progress and any concerns
Assist with the planning and implementation of educational activities aligned with early childhood education standards
Manage administrative tasks such as attendance records, incident reports, and shift handovers
Lead by example to promote a positive, inclusive, and professional work environment
Drive company policies on health, safety, and hygiene protocols
Skills
Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members
Experience working with children, preferably within early childhood education or nursery environments
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in childcare
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary
A caring attitude combined with professionalism and organisational skills
