Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our innovative team and help build the technical infrastructure that powers our AI-driven legal services. You'll be working on large-scale applications that directly impact how legal services are delivered, making justice more accessible through technology.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs using Python Build and optimise cloud infrastructure to support our AI-powered legal platform Integrate large language models into production applications Develop comprehensive testing strategies and maintain high code quality Monitor system performance and implement improvements for reliability and scalability Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

Strong Python and cloud computing expertise Large-scale application development including architecture, testing, and maintenance Understanding of API design principles and RESTful services Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)

Full-stack development experience

, particularly with: Next.js framework TypeScript/JavaScript React ecosystem

LLM application development

experience, including: Integration of large language models into production systems Prompt engineering and model optimization Experience with AI/ML frameworks Some knowledge of legal practice and/or law is also a plus, but not essential Willingness to chat about physics, philosophy, obscure pop-culture references, and whatever else might spark your curiosity

Location & Working Arrangements

This is a remote-first position with regular in-person collaboration. Candidates must be based in or near London, as we meet weekly (sometimes more frequently) for team collaboration, planning sessions, and strategic discussions.
