Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a seasoned

.NET Software Engineer

with a strong focus on

back-end development and event-driven architecture

to join our distributed Scrum team across the UK and Spain. You'll play a key role in building scalable, cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure for our strategic global platform.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in designing and implementing robust, service-oriented systems and has a passion for building resilient, event-driven solutions. While there is a front-end component (approximately 20%), the primary focus is on back-end services, integration patterns, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable

.NET Core Web APIs

and microservices. Implement and maintain

event-driven architectures

using Azure Service Bus and related messaging technologies. Contribute to the design and evolution of distributed systems and cloud-native patterns. Develop and optimise SQL PaaS database schemas and queries using Entity Framework. Integrate with Azure services such as Web Apps, Blob Storage, and Key Vault. Support the build and deployment pipeline with automated testing and CI/CD practices. Collaborate with the team to define architecture and technical direction. Maintain a lightweight Angular front-end, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness. Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Knowledge and Experience

5+ years of experience with the Microsoft development stack:

.NET, SQL Server, Entity Framework, Azure

. Proven experience designing and implementing

event-driven systems

and asynchronous messaging patterns. Strong understanding of

object-oriented design

and

software architecture principles

. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like JIRA. Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular 5+, TypeScript, HTML/CSS is beneficial but not central. Proficient in Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to Docker and containerisation is a plus.

Personal Attributes

Analytical thinker and problem solver with a strong sense of ownership. Collaborative and communicative, able to work effectively across remote teams. Passionate about building high-quality, scalable software. Committed to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies. Calm under pressure and focused on delivery.
