Edun is a UK-based SaaS and EdTech platform designed specifically for the education recruitment sector. Our mission is to simplify and enhance how schools, recruiters, and education professionals connect and collaborate. We provide a CRM-driven platform tailored to the unique needs of educational recruitment, making processes more efficient, transparent, and impactful.

We're growing fast and are looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our team to help scale our platform, build robust APIs, and support seamless data migrations for new customers.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer at Edun, you will play a key role in the development of our core platform. You'll be responsible for architecting and maintaining backend services, building and optimising APIs, and handling complex data migrations from new clients onto our platform.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves solving problems with data, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to contribute to a product that's transforming the education recruitment space.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migrations

:

Extract and transform client databases in various formats (including .CSV, NoSQL, and SQL). Clean, manipulate, and merge data into Edun's platform to ensure smooth onboarding of new businesses. Work with the team to automate and optimise the migration process for efficiency and accuracy.

API Development

:

Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs to support the platform's features and integrations. Work with frameworks such as

FastAPI

to deliver reliable, scalable backend services. Integrate with third-party APIs as needed to extend Edun's platform capabilities.

Backend Engineering

:

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Collaborate with the frontend team to ensure seamless API consumption and user experiences. Optimise database queries and ensure overall backend performance and reliability. Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Strong experience with

Python

and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar). Proven experience in

REST API design and development

. Hands-on experience with

data migrations

involving .CSV, NoSQL, and SQL datasets. Strong understanding of

data transformation, cleansing, and merging techniques

. Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar). Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deployment and storage.

Desirable:

Knowledge of microservices architecture. Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Previous experience in SaaS or EdTech platforms.
