You'll directly empower customers to uncover, analyse, and act on their most valuable data assets Your work will streamline analytics, remove bottlenecks, and deliver business-critical features at the heart of hx Renew You'll take on deep technical challenges--from designing distributed data solutions to building reliable, cloud-native infrastructure You'll drive experimentation--piloting new technologies and approaches to continuously improve the data experience for users

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a fast-moving, visionary product team on a greenfield project Design and develop backend and analytics components using Kotlin and Python Enable scalable ingestion, processing, and exploration of insurance datasets Deliver features that help customers understand and optimise decisions in risk modelling, turning complex portfolio data into actionable insights Elevate the reliability, scalability, and observability of data flows and analytics infrastructure Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering peers to create data-driven user experiences--balancing powerful functionality with usability Lead and participate in architectural and design discussions around distributed data processing and cloud deployment Automate key workflows to support risk assessment, pricing, and portfolio analytics Document clearly and contribute to coding best practices for robust, maintainable systems Harness AI and machine learning tools to automate data analysis, accelerate feature development, and unlock impactful insights--enabling engineers to iterate faster and deliver greater value for users

Required Experience and Skills

Proven experience as a polyglot engineer (Kotlin and Python) Hands-on experience with AWS with Terraform Strong grasp of distributed systems design, data architecture, and API development Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines Commitment to clean, well-documented, and maintainable code Interest in exploring emerging data and AI technologies For senior roles: Demonstrated mentorship and team development skills
