Are you ready to take your platform engineering skills to the next level?
We're looking for a hands-on Backend Tech Lead to own, evolve, and elevate the platform. You'll lead a small but mighty team, working closely with the CTO and other key leaders to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and built with the future in mind. The platform supports everything from game deployment and integration to player session management, promotions, reporting, and third-party API connectivity. It's the silent workhorse behind company games, and you'll be the one making sure it grows up properly.
Tech Stack:
We're in the process of modernising the platform. Right now, we're working with:
5+ years of backend/platform experience, including 1+ years in a team lead or senior engineer role;
Strong experience with a Backend/Systems Language (Java, C++, Rust, C#, GO);
Broad experience in software architecture, encompassing microservices, distributed systems, event-driven design and networking protocols;
Extensive experience with NoSQL databases and large-scale database architecture;
Experience in high-scale backend systems within Gaming, specifically with a slots provider;
Solid knowledge of AWS infrastructure;
Comfortable making architectural decisions and justifying trade-offs;
Excellent problem-solving skills;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and continents;
Hands-on and practical, you know when to get stuck in and when to take a step back.
Your daily adventures will look like:
Leading and growing the Platform team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and structure;
Playing a key role in owning and leading the technical direction and roadmap of the platform;
Collaborating with the MD, Chief Architect, and Product team to scope and deliver platform features that scale;
Overseeing integrations with operators, aggregators, and regulatory bodies;
Prioritising stability, performance, and scalability in everything you build;
Helping reduce technical debt and modernise legacy codebases where necessary;
Championing clean code, testing, documentation, and DevOps best practices;
Fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
