Job Summary

We are looking for a

reliable and flexible backup delivery driver

to step in

at short notice

for emergency cover. You'll be delivering multiple parcels (multi-drop) to homes and businesses using a long wheelbase (LWB) van.

This role suits someone who is already working part-time as a courier or looking for additional income.

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and effective communication with both clients and team members.

WE will PROVIDE the van & we will provide you with a Fuel Card - There is no cost to you! You just turn up & start driving!

Duties

Safely operate a delivery van to transport goods to designated locations. Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or damages encountered during transport. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition before and after deliveries. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.

Skills

Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Valid commercial driving licence is essential for this position. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading of goods. A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in all tasks. Drive a van to deliver products to various locations in a timely manner. Load and unload goods, ensuring safe handling and adherence to weight limits. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the van is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and logs of mileage. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including heavy lifting and organisation of stock.
