Monitor and operate parts of the baggage handling system via SCADA/HMI and to resolve non-technical faults.
Implement contingencies when advised by O&M engineer to minimise impact on the baggage operation.
Provide support and feedback to the O&M baggage engineer team.
Using provided equipment to carry out the role.
Maintain a safe and appropriate approach to with all communications (Radio) - this is critical in a dangerous environment.
Drive continuous improvement to ensure that the baggage system operations are delivering excellent service; operational, safety, quality performance, whilst adopting environmentally sustainable working practices.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Utilise baggage system operation tools (SCADA, HMI and CCTV).
Carry out dynamic risk assessments to identify hazards, assessing risk, taking action to eliminate or reduce risk.
Clear the baggage system blockages as part of the reactive operation faults.
BHS safety walks and report safety concerns to FM engineers and on Centrik.
Reset emergency stop activations and safety panels.
Reset over-height activation faults.
Operate the manual intervention points when required.
Support the O&M baggage engineers during contingences.
Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (non-Electrical).
Maintaining effective/efficient communication with O&M Engineers.
Reporting on completion of assigned work and hindrance to work progress.
Comply with operating instructions.
Dealing with queries from baggage operation stakeholders.
Ensuring the daily baggage operation inspections are carried out and documented.
