Bakery Assistant

The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a keen interest in food preparation and production. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our bakers and ensuring that our bakery operates smoothly. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of various baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes. Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and baking trays safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and report shortages to management. Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a culinary or bakery setting ; a willingness to learn is key. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and baking processes. Ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings or weekends as required.
Working Hours: Tuesday Friday Saturday 5am start each morning.
