We are now looking for a reliable, proactive, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Driver & Cleaner. This role combines delivery driving with bakery cleaning duties, helping to ensure our products reach customers in perfect condition and that our production environment remains clean, safe, and efficient.

You will be an important part of our team's daily rhythm; representing Cissy Green's with professionalism during deliveries and supporting our bakers by maintaining high hygiene and safety standards alongside the bakery team when you return from the delivery run.

What You'll Be Doing:

Delivery Driving:

Load and unload the delivery van safely, ensuring products are handled with care. Deliver freshly baked goods to wholesale customers along regular routes. Use our delivery system smartphone app to take a picture of delivered goods. Provide invoices to customers and, where required, collect payments. Maintain polite, professional, and helpful communication with customers. Carry out basic vehicle checks (fuel, cleanliness, condition) and report any maintenance issues promptly. Clean and tidy the delivery van regularly to maintain hygiene standards for food transportation. Refuelling the van, paying for the fuel with a company card, and capturing the receipt.
Bakery Cleaning and Support:

Support the baking team with end-of-shift cleaning, helping maintain excellent hygiene throughout the bakery. Complete daily cleaning tasks across floors, work surfaces, equipment, trays, ovens, and machinery. Undertake scheduled deep cleaning of equipment and production areas as directed. Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures set by the manager, ensuring cleaning activities are completed safely and documented where required. Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, using appropriate PPE and adhering to bakery hygiene protocols. Work independently once the baking team has finished, completing final cleaning and tidying duties to prepare the bakery for the next day.

What You'll Bring:

Essential Skills and Experience:

Full UK driving licence. No more than 3 points. Right to work in the UK. Experience driving a van. Manual handling skills. Reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic. Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Desirable:

Previous experience in a delivery, cleaning, or food production role. Basic awareness of food hygiene, HACCP principles, or cleaning in a food environment (training provided).

Where you'll be:

You will be based at our Wholesale Bakery Unit in Haslingden, working closely with a small, friendly team of bakers and the Wholesale Team Leader. You will carry out deliveries independently and then return to support the bakery team with cleaning and hygiene tasks.

Working Conditions

Early morning starts (5:30am) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Manual handling and physical activity are part of the role. Company van provided for deliveries (manual transmission). Bakery environment involving food production, cleaning materials, and machinery.
