What we're looking for in a Bakery Manager:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bakery Manager who is passionate about quality baked goods and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to manage daily operations efficiently, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the highest standards are maintained. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and train staff are essential. The successful candidate should also be proactive in inventory management, cost control, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Main Duties:
Oversee daily bakery operations across multiple sites, including stock management, production schedules, and process runs
Manage and support team leaders in both locations
Organise and lead staff weekly meetings to review production targets and address issues
Communicate effectively with day and night shift teams
Manage staff attendance, annual leave, sickness absence, performance, and training
Monitor quality control standards and ensure compliance with SALSA and other certifications
Control wastage and optimise process runs for efficiency
Conduct maintenance checks and liaise with teams to minimise downtime
Complete and maintain paperwork related to SALSA certification and other regulatory requirements
Address operational issues promptly and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Manage health and safety regulations
Approximately 80% on the bakery floor and 20% office-based work
Must have valid driving license, as role involves overseeing operations across Llangefni and Gaerwen locations
Requirements:
Proven experience in bakery or food manufacturing management (minimum 3-5 years)
Strong knowledge of baking processes, safety standards, and quality control
Leadership and team management skills
Ability to analyse production metrics and implement improvements
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
