We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bakery Manager to lead our bakery team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary arts, and extensive experience in food preparation and kitchen management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily bakery operations, ensure high standards of food safety, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. The Bakery Manager will be responsible for maintaining product quality, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth workflow within the bakery.
Duties
Oversee daily bakery operations, including food production, preparation, and presentation
Supervise and manage bakery staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
Coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock levels of ingredients and packaging materials
Develop new bakery products and recipes in collaboration with the culinary team
Monitor quality control to ensure all baked goods meet company standards and customer expectations
Manage inventory, waste control, and cost optimisation strategies
Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and hospitality
Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety legislation
Requirements
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or bakery management
Supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production
Experience in culinary arts or kitchen operations; hospitality or hotel experience is advantageous
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced environment such as cafes or restaurants
Barista experience is considered a plus but not essential
Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in managing inventories and schedules
