Position Overview
We are seeking a Baking Production and Development Manager--a hands-on professional who will combine creativity with technical expertise to shape the next chapter of growth for our bakehouse.
This role merges daily production management with product innovation. You will be responsible for the daily operations of the bakehouse while leading the development of exciting new product line. This includes managing our existing lines of modern desserts, expanding into more diverse specialty desserts, and developing baked goods that utilize high-quality ingredients with a focus on health-conscious and balanced recipes to appeal to a wider customer base.
You will work closely with our existing baking and R&D teams, transforming creative ideas into commercially scalable products that embody E Bakehouse's values of quality, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Innovation
Lead the research and development of new product lines, inspired by global influences, local British ingredients, and wellness trends.
Develop recipes that celebrate seasonality, sustainability, and the stories behind ingredients
Plan and conduct formulation trials, assessing taste, texture, nutrition, and ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols.
Translate kitchen recipes into commercial-scale, cost-efficient, and process-stable bakery products to ensure consistency and facilitate training
Production & Operations
Oversee bakery production to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and teamwork.
Collaborate with section leads across bread, pastry, and dessert teams to align production goals and maintain a seamless workflow.
Optimise processes, manage ingredient inventory, and ensure best-in-class hygiene and food safety practices.
Support and mentor team members, nurturing a culture of pride and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
Uphold and enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
Maintain HACCP compliance and internal quality assurance systems.
Conduct testing and evaluations to guarantee product stability and compliance throughout the full product lifecycle.

About You
Proven experience in bakery production management or food product development, ideally in a commercial or artisan bakery.
Strong understanding of baking science, formulation, and process optimisation.
A degree or background in Food Science, Nutrition, or Food Engineering is highly desirable.
Familiar with UK food safety regulations.
Creative, analytical, and deeply passionate about baking.
A collaborative and positive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a commercial kitchen.
