Bakery Sales Assistant / Cook

Jacksons has been producing high-quality craft bakery goods for its own retail shops and wholesale customers since 1944.

Based in Chesterfield, we proudly supply a wide range of breads, cakes, savouries and traybakes to businesses across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Cheshire. Our Chesterfield shop is well known for its hot meat sandwiches and delicious pies, and last year we opened our second shop in Clipstone.

About the role

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining bakery sales with light cooking and food preparation. You will help deliver excellent customer service while ensuring food is prepared, served and displayed to a high standard.

Personal attributes & qualifications

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Have previous experience working in a kitchen or food environment Deliver excellent customer service Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues Be reliable, motivated and have a positive, can-do attitude Be able to multitask in a busy environment Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere Have previous experience in a kitchen or food retail environment

Key responsibilities

Serve customers, including taking orders and serving food Assist with cooking and food preparation as required Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the shop Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental Health procedures Clear tables and maintain shop presentation Maintain confidentiality at all times
