The PE Specialist purpose is to deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality PE lessons and sports activities that support every child's physical development, confidence, and wellbeing. Through our curriculum and extracurricular programmes, we aim to help children build friendships, develop independence, and foster a positive self-image in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that cater to all abilities.
Run inclusive lunch and after-school sports clubs.
Group children by ability where appropriate and adapt activities accordingly.
Carry out termly assessments and provide reports to school staff.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with school staff and pupils.
Communicate effectively with your manager and respond promptly.
Maintain accurate planning and self-evaluation notes for continuous improvement.
Be a positive role model to every child you teach.
Ensure sessions are well-organised and equipment is prepared in advance.
Support the participation of disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.
Reply to emails and texts promptly.
Ensure weekly sessions are planned in advance.
Confident engaging with parents and dismissing children at collection time
Know the lessons and objectives you are teaching each week.
Conduct self-assessments and lesson reviews regularly.
Ensure after-school and lunch clubs are delivered to a high standard.
Person Specification
Sports coaching qualification (desirable).
Prior experience working with children in a school or sports environment.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Passion for inclusive sports delivery and child development.
You must prioritise child safety and follow BFree Sports' safeguarding policies at all times.
Code of Conduct
Wear the full company uniform during working hours.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before sessions to allow for set-up.
Always act professionally; any reports of inappropriate conduct will be investigated.
Prioritise the safety and welfare of children at all times.
Keep all social media accounts on private settings and maintain safeguarding protocols when posting on your account.
All interactions with children must be positive, affirming, and appropriate.
Any safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to the designated safeguarding officer.
If you are running late, contact your manager and the school immediately.
If you are unwell, inform your manager by 7am to arrange cover.
Lost or damaged equipment must be reported and replaced.
Alcohol and drug use during working hours is strictly prohibited.
Frequent lateness or absence will result in a formal review meeting.
