Band 3 Clerical Worker, Day Surgery

Job Description

To provide administrative, clerical and reception support service to the Day Surgery Unit. This includes undertaking a wide range of administrative duties, primarily ensuring an efficient running of the day surgery unit. Safeguarding patient confidentiality is of the utmost importance.



To provide a professional and friendly "face" to all patients and relatives attending the Day Surgery Unit. To respond appropriately to unpredictable situations, and using your discretion to organise workload.

To ensure all patient information and activity data is correctly and fully registered on relevant computer systems in a timely and efficient manner in order that accurate, high quality and up to date information is maintained. The post holder will receive enquires from members of the public and will need tact, diplomacy and awareness of the department in which they are working in order to manage these effectively.



The day surgery unit is looking for a person with great communication skills that can support the clinical team effectively. They need to be reliable and show dedication to the role.



The hours required to work are early shifts 7am to 3pm, 9am to 5pm and 11am to 7pm Monday -Friday.
