Job Description

We are excited to offer a full-time Assistant Psychologist post within Birmingham Healthy Minds .



Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) is an NHS Talking Therapies Service (formerly IAPT) delivering psychological therapies to people with common mental health problems using the Stepped Care Model.



We are looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist, with energy and drive to assist in a project to better understand the needs of people from our local communities from particular ethnic backgrounds and those with neurodiversity, to promote better engagement with the service and outcomes for our patients.



As well as opportunities for both qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis and reporting, there will also be opportunities to work alongside clinical staff to deliver high quality, time-limited psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines to patients presenting with Depression and Anxiety Disorders.



Applications are invited from psychology graduates who can demonstrate their clinical expertise and experience of working with people with common mental health difficulties. We will provide in-house training to successful candidates so previous knowledge of and experience of working in NHS Talking Therapies Services/Primary Care is not essential.

To support a project to better understand the needs of people from our local communities from particular ethnic backgrounds and those with neurodiversity, to promote better engagement with the service and outcomes for our patients



This will entail both qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis and reporting to further understand access patterns, patient's journey through the service and recovery rates for patients from different ethnic backgrounds and those with neurodiversity



Review and management of current resources and identification of additional resources to support the treatments provided and signposting to relevant organisations that complement our Service.



To support group interventions delivered in languages by BHM staff in community settings and report on how patients with neurodiversity can be better supported to engage with and complete treatments offered within the Service.



Collate and report on updates and recent publications as well as BHM Service promotion and supporting the work of the BHM champions.



Support clinical staff to deliver high quality, time-limited psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines to patients presenting with Depression and Anxiety.
