Job Description

The Pathology Stores Department undertakes the responsibility of providing a service to University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust stakeholders. Effective materials management for all areas of laboratory services whilst ensuring the effective delivery of a customer focused service. Providing advice and assistance to customers on issues, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Pathology Stores Staff provide an effective and professional procurement service delivering ongoing cost efficiencies and benefits in line with Trust and customer objectives.
As a member of the Pathology team, you will be required to adopt a flexible approach towards any procurement and logistics activities required to support the service and/or department.
The post at this level contains a range of tasks, some of which require the use of initiative whilst operating within broad procedural guidelines and requires a degree of independent judgement.

  • *Experience of working in a Stores/Warehouse Environment
  • *Experience of working within a supply chain function
  • *Proven track record of successful management of stock portfolios
  • *Working within a team
  • *Experience in Public Sector
  • *Commercial awareness
  • *Knowledge of business principles
  • *Knowledge and experience using ordering systems such as SAGE
  • *Knowledge of operational procedures
