Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with the ability to assess and respond to the complex needs of critically ill patients. This role requires a thorough understanding of anatomy and the administration of medications, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care during their recovery process.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting. Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes accurately and promptly. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies at all times. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements

Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Proven experience in an ICU or critical care setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care. Proficient in medication administration, including intravenous therapies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in patient documentation. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions swiftly.
