We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident individual. You should have the ability to work well within teams and be able to manage your time effectively. Applicants will possess BSc Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent) and be HCPC registered. Excellent communication skills and effective team working skills are essential.
This post provides a fantastic opportunity for an individual to develop a wide range of nutrition support skills with a varying mix of inpatients and outpatients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment whilst developing their clinical skills.
The Band 5 position is part of the Band 5 Rotations. There are four rotations in our development programme and areas covered include:
Infectious Diseases
Respiratory
Rheumatology
Oncology
Surgical
Acute Medicine
Diabetes
Care of the Elderly
To provide nutritional advice and support to patients through assessments on the ward, by telephone and written communication.
To liaise closely with the relevant multi-disciplinary teams and attend relevant meetings, where possible.
To assist in the production of evidence based resources, policies and guidelines.
To provide ongoing training for ward staff with regards to the dietary management of patients requiring nutritional support.
To undertake education and training sessions to patients, carers, nursing staff, catering staff, medical staff and other health professionals as required.
To participate in dietetic audits
To undertake professional development activities.
To participate in training of Student Dietitians
