Job Description

This is a band 5 or band 6 development post and you will be appointed depending on your experience and qualifications. The band 5 and band 6 jobs descriptions are attached.



There is a new and rare opportunity to use your recent skills and experience gained whilst working with patients in clinical settings and join an expanding and exciting team to deliver training in the Trust. This team enables staff to meet their Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST) targets where face to face contact is required to engage in physical interaction. Subjects will include (but not limited to) Basic Resus, PERT, RRI and Manual Handling Level 2 through the provision of a range of training, education and development interventions.



Having experience of delivering training in some form of capacity would be an advantage and there is a requirement to undertake educational qualifications if not already held.



Consideration will be given to those candidates holding a NHS professional qualification. The successful candidate be able to utilise experience gained in working in a health care setting with training delivery.



The role requires the job holder to deliver a range of MAST to all staff groups and develop the supporting theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. Many programmes will require the post holder to undertake a formal assessment of participants' knowledge and skills. Full development training will be given to the job holder.



Face to face courses will be delivered in external and internal venues across the Trust so a current driving licence essential. Must be mobile with the facility to travel across a geographically dispersed area.



You must be of reasonable fitness and mobility to undertake all the requirements of the training role. At minimum you must be able to demonstrate that you can stand from a kneeling position unaided. This means you do not need to use your hands to support you or require someone else to assist you in standing from both legs.

To effectively deliver high quality training programmes for MAST, delivering complex training alone, to all grades of Trust staff that is in accordance with Trust operational and training policies and procedures.



To coordinate the evaluation of each programme delivery and to monitor its effectiveness and review the course content as the course develops to ensure that it continues to meet service and individual needs.



To undertake and contribute to the research, design and preparation of high quality training materials for both face to face and technology enhanced learning in conjunction with the MaST Team Leader.



To contribute and assist in conjunction with MaST Team Leader towards the evaluation of each programmer delivery and to monitor its effectiveness and review the course content as the course develops to ensure that it continues to meet service and individual needs.



To carrying out risk assessments prior to the delivery of any training in consideration of Health & safety requirements.



To be able to identify staff who during training who are



considered to be at risk of injury



unable to adapt correct body mechanics



unable to use correct techniques.
