JOB PURPOSEo To Provide a specialist clinical service with responsibility to a caseloadspecific to the role for children with developmental speech and languagedelays / disorders / social communication / feeding or swallowing difficultiesas relevant to the role.o To provide a service at settings within designated locality, working closelywith parents/carers, schools staff and other relevant professionals, to enablechildren to develop their speech, language and communication skills and toaccess the age relevant curriculumo To assess the needs for, develop and implement Speech and LanguageTherapy treatment to children referred within designated locality andpresenting with a wide range of speech, language and communicationdifficulties
Main duties of the job
o To provide advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties
o To understand and meet professional and legal SEND responsibilitiesoutlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing tostatutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
o To be accountable for own professional actions and recognise ownprofessional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues asappropriate
o The post holder will also provide line management, supervision and peer review support to less experienced colleagues and students, including second opinions

  • Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT

  • Experience of supporting CYP, families and schools in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 including contribution to statutory assessments (Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessments), contribution to the annual review process and delivery of SALT provision as specified in Education health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Experience Training others
