JOB PURPOSEo To Provide a specialist clinical service with responsibility to a caseloadspecific to the role for children with developmental speech and languagedelays / disorders / social communication / feeding or swallowing difficultiesas relevant to the role.o To provide a service at settings within designated locality, working closelywith parents/carers, schools staff and other relevant professionals, to enablechildren to develop their speech, language and communication skills and toaccess the age relevant curriculumo To assess the needs for, develop and implement Speech and LanguageTherapy treatment to children referred within designated locality andpresenting with a wide range of speech, language and communicationdifficultiesMain duties of the jobo To provide advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication and/or feeding and swallowing difficultieso To understand and meet professional and legal SEND responsibilitiesoutlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing tostatutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).o To be accountable for own professional actions and recognise ownprofessional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues asappropriateo The post holder will also provide line management, supervision and peer review support to less experienced colleagues and students, including second opinionsAbout usProfessional StandardsAll staff must comply with the Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust Staff Code of Conduct and demonstrate the Trust's Values and Behaviours. • Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
• Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT

• Experience of supporting CYP, families and schools in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 including contribution to statutory assessments (Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessments), contribution to the annual review process and delivery of SALT provision as specified in Education health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Collaborative work with parents and other professionals
• Experience Training others

• Interest to develop clinical specialism in education
• Training / experience of supporting students and more junior qualified therapists including provision of supervision and line management

• Deal with Conflict and good problem solving skills
• Sensitive to others' issues/differing needs
• Excellent Interpersonal skills including observation, listening and empathy
• Excellent communication /presentation skills verbal and written
• Good organisational skills
