Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist, interested in expanding their clinical skills and experience working within West Essex Community Mental Health provision for adults covering Harlow, Uttlesford and Epping Forest localities.
You will be working as part of a small friendly and skilful Occupational therapy team to provide focused Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to clients through 1:1 and group work.
The OT team sits within the wider multi-disciplinary team providing holistic support for clients with complex and enduring mental health needs requiring secondary level mental health care .
Main duties of the job
Working within this busy team environment you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills; including but not limited to undertaking OT assessments, care planning, delivering interventions - facilitating groups and individual sessions, and the supervision and appraisal of junior staff.
The post holder will have access to professional supervision and leadership within the team and across the Trust, and support in accessing relevant development opportunities.

  • Registered with HCPC
  • Completion of Preceptorship period and evidence of continuing professional and personal development.

  • Car driver - ability to travel across sites and boundaries to attend meetings etc
Skills/Experience

  • Experience as a qualified occupational therapist in mental health
  • Literate in IT/computer skills
  • Experience in of working closely and developing relationships with medical nursing social care tertiary providers and clinical staff
  • Ability to produce clear, coherent and accurate clinical reports including ability to complete required electronic data systems for a variety of audience
Desirable
  • Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
  • Fieldwork educator
