Are you ready to develop and consolidate your OT skills within a supportive team?




We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who's eager to expand their knowledge and skills at Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital.

We have supervision and CPD opportunities that we encourage you dive into. You'll also be working closely with experienced OTs and Physiotherapists.

Skills I need?

Functional assessments of the older adult. Communication, team work and a can-do approach. This post is across two hospital sites so the ability to be flexible is essential.

What will you develop?

Your prioritisation and time management skills. You will also develop strong leadership skills supervising junior staff.

Patient group:

Predominately older adults in a physical sub-acute /rehab setting. Wide variety of clinical conditions seen including amputees, fractures, frailty.

Explore and Grow:

You will have support and collaboration from our other OTs on Rutland and Melton wards as well as across our other community hospitals. There is also the opportunity to initiate & support service development as we love fresh ideas!

Be part of something bigger:

You'll be a key player in our services, working alongside amazing teams & health and social care professionals.

Tech Savvy:

You'll need to get comfortable with electronic patient records but don't worry, we'll give you all the training & support you need.

Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)



Your Mission: You'll be providing an occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation service to the patients on Melton and Rutland wards.



Your Superpowers:

You'll be an autonomous practitioner, managing your own caseload, assessing and treating patients, ensuring safe and effective discharges and adhering to professional standards and best practices.

Team working:

You'll be building and nurturing strong relationships with your nursing, ACP, and AHP colleagues on the ward as well as your community colleagues in Adult Social Care and Community Therapy.

Guiding the Next Generation:

You'll be supervising and supporting our therapy support workers and apprentices to build their skills by sharing your knowledge and experience.

Experience:

Previous work within an inpatient setting as a band 5 or band 6 Occupational Therapist is desirable for this role but not essential.
