Are you a highly experienced pharmacy technician ready to advance to a specialist leadership role? We're seeking a dedicated Specialist Pharmacy Technician for Aseptic Services with exceptional leadership capabilities and extensive aseptic experience to join our team.
The Cancer Services Division at UHB delivers world class cancer care to patients from across the country, with specialised services in oncology and haematology. As part of our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
In this specialist role, you'll support the production manager in ensuring our Aseptic Units meet all quality, activity and financial targets. You'll manage workload, supervise staff and organise cover for absences to ensure safe, effective service delivery.
Ideal candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills, have proven staff management experience, and comprehensive knowledge of GMP, Quality Assurance, and cytotoxic dispensing/preparation.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
*Collaborate with the Lead Pharmacy Technician to meet unit performance targets, directing daily operations and supervising team members
*Manage provision of patient-specific cytotoxic, monoclonal antibody and CIVAS preparations in accordance with European, National and Local legislation and Good Manufacturing Practice
*Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed items for outpatients and inpatients.
*Oversee pre and in-process checking, product approval for aseptically prepared products, and final release after relevant training
*Manage accurate and timely preparation and dispensing of cytotoxic drugs for in-patients, out-patients, clinical trials, private patients and external customers
*Become certificated on Intrathecal Register to aseptically dispense Intrathecal Chemotherapy according to Trust procedures
*Supervise stock practices, manage high-cost drug accountability, produce workload figures and participate in daily stock checks
*Provide day-to-day management including roster planning, team meetings, recruitment support, and staff development
*Drive service improvement - Conduct audits, support research projects, identify new working methods, and participate in strategic development
