Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist Acute Medical

Ilford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Join Our Friendly Physio Team at King George Hospital, Ilford!

We're on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our welcoming team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust. You'll be working on the Acute Medical Wards at King George Hospital in Ilford, Essex -- it's a busy, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same!

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your clinical skills in areas like cardiac, respiratory, and endocrinology. As a Band 6 physio, you'll be part of a supportive and energetic team, with the chance to build on your leadership, communication, and management skills too.

We're big on professional development -- with regular in-service training, evidence-based practice groups, and access to external courses through our appraisal process. You'll be supported by a Band 8A team lead and a Band 7 physio, so you won't be going it alone.

We've recently updated how we work to better support patients, with a 7-day service model now in place across our Medical and Elderly Receiving Unit and Elderly Short Stay Unit. If you're open to this kind of flexible schedule and want to be part of a team focused on top-quality care, we'd love to hear from you.

Think this could be a great fit? Got questions? We're happy to chat -- get in touch or apply today!

To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with access to direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review. Access of advice and supper from a senior physiotherapist is available as required, clinical work is routinely evaluated.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating time management and planning skills.

We're an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and our patients are happy with. We're no longer in special measures ; we've opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH); and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.

We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the 35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen's and get rid of corridor care.

Our patients are benefitting from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes . We're proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record that will be transformative for our staff and beneficial for our patients.
