We are expanding our Neurodevelopmental offer for children and young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and are growing our team to improve experiences for CYP and families. This fulltime (37.5 hours, MondayFriday) role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
The post supports the Neurodevelopment (ND) Improvement Programme, which aims to improve outcomes for CYP with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The programme focuses on understanding current resources, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing new delivery, workforce and financial models.
Successful candidates will join an ambitious, passionate team of clinical and administrative colleagues. You will help drive improvements, reduce waiting lists, and increase access to support. The role requires delivering highquality care, working creatively and at pace, and keeping CYP and families at the centre of decisionmaking. Provide assessment and diagnosis of Autism for children and young people with and without SLCN difficulties.
To produce reports regarding children and young peoples needs, recommendations and appropriate sign posting reflecting specialist knowledge.
To use a range of communication strategies, e.g. verbal, non-verbal, assisted (e.g. via signing and/or communication aids), to ensure that, wherever possible, children and young people, carers and others understand the outcome of assessment and are involved in the assessment. This includes obtaining informed consent and where this is not possible ensuring appropriate action is taken.
Provide effective caseload management for identified caseloads.
Provide mentorship, advice and learning opportunities for other Speech and Language Therapy colleagues.
Contribute to whole service improvements.
