The Royal Free (RFH) pharmacy department works under a 'specials' medicines
manufacturer license. The RFH pharmacy department also holds a Manufacturing
Authorisation for Investigational Medicinal Products MIA (IMP), which allows the unit to
prepare products for clinical trials. The Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (PMU) is chiefly
concerned with the preparation and supply of medicines to internal and external
customers.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering and supporting the specialist, senior and principal pharmacists develop a high quality pharmacy service across technical services. The candidate will work closely with the senior pharmacists and the chief technicians in assisting and organising the day to day running of the manufacturing unit
including final checking and releasing of terminally sterilised and aseptic products, cytotoxics, and non-sterile products. When required the post holder will be required to support the Barnet aseptic unit. In order to do this, he/she will work closely with the rotational pharmacists, Senior Technicians and other junior staff working within the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit and the nurses on wards/clinics.
