We are seeking a dedicated and experienced reporting technologist professional for our Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scanning service. This role is crucial in supporting our patients with accurate bone density assessments and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The post holder will have a multifaceted role of reporting sessions, clinical sessions, and admin/management sessions. Clinical sessions will include scanning patients and teaching other radiographic staff to perform DXA scans.Reporting radiographers play a pivotal role in enhancing patient care at North Middlesex University Hospital and you will contribute to streamlined workflows and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
Main duties of the job
Scientific
To undertake DXA, to determine bone density, bone quality andbody composition.
To analyse the results of the scans and provide detailed reports to referring medical consultants, GP's and other clinical staff.
Technical
To undertake quality control/assurance tests/calibration prior to densitometer use.To undertake data archiving and data transfer between various workstations, including confidentialpatient test results.
To undertake daily audit of referrals against densitometers databases for patient attendance history.
To undertake informative teaching presentations prepared using a variety of computer programmers and techniques.
Clinical
To assist patients and volunteers in personal care.
To support patients with impaired/restricted mobility. This may include the use of moving and handling equipment.
To be responsible for recording visit information into hospital notes.
Advisory
To provide one to one advice and information to patients, general public and fellow health care professionals, including test results, lifestyle advice, and treatment options.
To obtain informed consent prior to scanning.
To provide advice regarding technical matters to health professionals in the field of osteoporosis
