We have an opportunity for a dynamic Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and forward-thinking community team, acting as an Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health.

It's an exciting time for the SaLT service! We have just started our third year of delivering an integrated SaLT service within a Balanced System framework. We're working in partnership with families, the Local Authority, individual schools and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver interventions at Universal, Targeted and Specialist levels
You will provide Speech and Language Therapy at a highly specialist level, within the clinical area of SEMH, functioning in partnership with other agencies and disciplines to support in the holistic assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with SEMH needs.
You will provide highly specialist clinical supervision to colleagues working with clients with SEMH needs. You will have a strong understanding of the benefits of receiving and providing supervision for the client group, focusing on both clinical skills and emotional well-being.
You will represent the clinical area in all appropriate meetings to support and develop quality services for this population of children across the city in an integrated partnership model, where possible.
You will be part of the service level management team shaping the direction of the SaLT service in Birmingham
You will support the staff in your team to work in ways which optimise impact and deliver on outcomes.
The SaLT service works as part of Inclusion Services within the Children and Families Division of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We work across the whole city, within a range of community and educational settings, thus requiring successful applicants to demonstrate a high level of flexibility.
