Offenders are a challenging population group to work with and they often have complex healthcare needs. Offenders often have chaotic lives in the community and a history of poor engagement with community healthcare services. With high rates of substance misuse and mental health problems, this is a real chance to make a difference.
As part of the role you will be required to work at least two days in a 6-week period to have supervision, talks with colleagues, attended team meetings etc. You will provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting by planning an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care.
