Join Our Team


We are looking for Bank Care Assistants to join our friendly and committed team in Launcells, Bude. This is a zero-hours position, ideal for individuals seeking flexible work to fit around other commitments. You'll be stepping in to cover holiday, sickness, and other absences--making a vital difference by ensuring continuity of care for our residents.

Our Bank Care Assistants are compassionate, reliable, and professional. You'll provide high-quality care and support, helping residents maintain their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. Rotas will generally be discussed 4 weeks in advance.

Key Responsibilities



Personal Care: Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity is maintained. Mobility Support: Aid residents with mobility issues, helping them to move around safely and comfortably. This may include using mobility aids and assisting with exercises. Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the residents' physical or mental health to senior staff or healthcare professionals. Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a caring and supportive environment. Daily Activities: Assist residents in participating in social activities, encouraging engagement and a sense of community. Housekeeping: Help with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment for the residents. Meal Assistance: Assist with serving of meals, and support residents who need help with eating and drinking. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, incidents, and any other relevant information. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other carers, healthcare professionals, and management to provide comprehensive care and support.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



Essential:

Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Physical ability to carry out care duties, including lifting and assisting residents.
Desirable:

Previous experience in a care home or similar environment. Basic understanding of dementia care. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
