The Bridge Care Home is a newly built 71 bedded luxury care home for older people, we have bars/Bistro/Private Dinning, cinema, spa, Gym and nail/hair salon. here are 2 residential floors and 1 dementia floor.
We are looking for a versatile chef to jump in with the team when required, to cover Annual leave or sickness.

To plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centres around residents' preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements.
To be active and encouraging, provide advice and guidance for the team ensuring that The home is a friendly, supportive working environment.
To understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment within the home.
Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the Food Safety Manual, and ensure that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean. This willinclude the washing up of pots, pans and dishes when required.
Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved
Manage the team
suppliers and that stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum
freshness of all food ensuring the highest quality expected within The
home.
Responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe workingorder, reporting any damage or faults to the Caretaker and Home
Manager and following up any appropriate action.
To be an active member of the home team, contribute to team meetings, induction and on-going management and development of catering staff.
To be understanding towards Residents and their needs and attend resident/relative meetings. Regularly monitor and assess Residents satisfaction with the catering service provided in their home, and respond accordingly and positively to ideas and feedback.
Ensuring that the kitchen have all the relevant data on each resident from the day of admission ect
Work with other staff to prepare for events, menus and meal service Ect during marketing events.
Ensure that standards are maintained with regard to all areas of meal Service including Bistro, private dining & main dining areas.

Job Context
Although the actual job is fundamentally an individual role, you are an essential member of the home team and will be interacting and communicating on a regular basis with colleagues and Residents along with outside contractors.
Key Challenges
You are likely to be given various jobs all over the Home by different colleagues and residents, therefore, managing your own time and prioritising your workload, without being supervised, is essential. To ensure The home's high standards are maintained and that each team member treats residents in the way that they would expect to be treated themselves.

Person Specification
Experience in a 5hotel service & Care home would be an advantage
Knowledge of the IDDSI diet and its presentation
Basic numeracy and good record keeping skills.
Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
Good communication skills.
Approachable and friendly, able to work in a team.
Ability to work unsupervised, able to plan and prioritise own workload.
Leadership skills
Excellent organisation.
Computer Skills
Good personal hygiene.
