About Positive Care Group

Our mission and values form the foundation of all our work. At Positive Care Group we offer safe, stable environments where young people can build resilience and develop skills for a brighter future. We are passionate about creating a positive, nurturing environment where young people can thrive. Our approach is centred on empowering potential, ensuring safety and well-being, fostering positive relationships, and promoting lifelong learning. We are committed to excellence in everything we do, continuously striving to improve our services and support all our children and young people throughout their journey with us.

The Role

The duties of a Bank Practitioner are no different from being a permanent Practitioner, the only difference is the flexibility around your availability to work without having a set rota.

We are looking for Bank Practitioners, who can offer a degree of flexibility and consistency with their availability. Who can support our homes when required including absences, annual leave and cover permanent staff on any training courses etc.

As a Bank Practitioner, you will receive the same training, same induction and have the same opportunities as permanent staff, with the access to internal permanent positions within Positive Care Group that are not advertised externally should this be a career path you wish to explore. As a Bank Practitioner, you will still be enrolled onto the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare after 6 months of working with us at Positive Care Group.

We understand Bank Practitioners are crucial to the success of our company and we welcome passionate, hard-working, and committed role models to join our team. Many of the young people we support find difficulty in building rapport with new adults in their life, so we are seeking Bank Practitioners who can commit to some degree of longevity within the role and not just looking for a temporary 'stop gap' in their employment. If you are looking for a temporary post for a short time frame unfortunately this will not be the role for you.

No two days will be the same supporting our young people to achieve their very best and positive outcomes. You will have a varied array of tasks whilst on shift; everything from cooking & cleaning, taking part in activities and games, managing challenging behaviours and even putting your feet up watching TV with our Young People. We aim in our homes to create a positive, relaxed home environment where our young people feel safe, supported & listened to. You will be inducted by our learning & development team, and guided in your role by more senior staff members to establish appropriate boundaries, manage behaviours effectively and nurture the young people in your care towards positive futures.

As you've probably guessed this isn't a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 role. Our homes work on shift patterns meaning there is always 24-hour support to the young people in the home. As a Bank Practitioner, it's likely you will be required to work some weekday evenings and weekend shifts (all hours are dependent on the home and their children's needs). In some homes occasionally Bank Practitioners may be asked to sleep in at the home and they are paid at 65 per night.
