Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu plans.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Help maintain a positive work environment by communicating effectively with team members.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar culinary environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to prepare a variety of meals with attention to detail and presentation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
