We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bank Dining Room Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and dining room management, with a keen understanding of food safety standards. As a Dining Room Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for our service users, ensuring that all meals are served to the highest quality and in line with their dietary requirements. Your main responsibilities will be:



Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to service users. Deliver prepared food from the kitchen to the dining room. Ensure all dirty cutlery, crockery, and utensils are returned to the kitchen for washing up. Set up and clean tables, and ensure the dining room is properly prepared for each mealtime. Enhance the dining experience of our residents by interacting with them and encouraging social interaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including replenishing snacks and drinks. Assist with special events held within the home. Report any changes in a service user's dietary habits, including instances where a service user refuses food. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Report any illness, accident, faulty appliances, damaged furniture, or potential hazards to the Cook/Care Manager. Promote safe working practices in the home.

What experience do you need?



Basic Food Hygiene certificate. Understanding and commitment to Nutrition and Hydration practices. Understanding and commitment to Health & Safety practices. Understanding and commitment to Equal Opportunities. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to use own initiative in the daily running of the kitchen. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships with colleagues. Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or similar environment (desired). Additional training or certification in food safety or nutrition (desired).
A Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, and there will be opportunities for further training and development.

Where you will be working



You will be working at The Chimneys Residential Home.

Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will join a supportive and highly professional team.

Shift patterns may vary: 15:00-18:00 or 8:00-15:00.
