This is a temporary Bank Driver role at Elysium Healthcare's Thornford Park facility in Thatcham, Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving patients and staff, ensuring the vehicles are properly maintained and fuelled, and delivering supplies as needed. The role offers flexibility to work shifts that suit the candidate's lifestyle, with an hourly rate that includes a holiday allowance uplift.
Main duties of the job
As a Bank Driver, you will be responsible for driving patients and staff to various locations, ensuring safe and timely journeys using the most efficient routes. You will also drive staff and visitors to and from the unit as required, and collect and deliver consumables or assets for the unit. Ensuring the hospital vehicles are cleaned, maintained, and any issues are addressed immediately is also part of the role. Record-keeping and vehicle fuelling will be your responsibility as well.

Are you an experienced Driver wanting to control your own rota with flexibility to work the shifts that suit you?
Whether you're looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you're an experienced Driver you can join our staff bank and after completing a paid two-week induction, you'll have access to available Driving and on-site escorting shifts at Thornford Park.
There is no minimum number of hours you're required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.
Whether your experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the maintenance team with an hourly rate that includes a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking and much more.
As a Bank Driver you will be:

• Driving patients and staff to a variety of different locations, ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
• Driving staff and other visitors to/from the unit as required by the Line Manager. Collect and delivers consumables or assets for the Unit during periods of the day when not involved in other activities.
• Ensuring that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately.
• Ensuring that vehicles are fuelled at all times and record-keeping is kept up to date and available when requested

You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
