Job Description


Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as \xe2\x80\x9crelief roles\xe2\x80\x9d in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However, you aren\'t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Bank General Assistant, Cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness at Elizabeth House, whilst adhering to health and safety guidelines. In addition to this, you will also assist with meal preparation. Set in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Taunton, our in-house is open to residents for lunch seven days a week.

Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner are essential for success in this role.

The role of a Bank General Assistant Cleaning will include:

  • Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Ensuring a clean, comfortable and safe environment is maintained in the communal and service areas of the scheme
  • Helping to prepare meals and drinks by following food hygiene standards and ensuring the needs of our residents are met
  • Working with residents, families, advocates and staff to ensure a high standard of services
  • Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
  • Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes
Skills and experiences:
  • Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties is essential
  • Some experience of working in a domestic/cleaning environment
  • NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering, or willing to work towards
  • Working knowledge of food hygiene standards
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A general understanding of health and safety in the work place
