We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a bank basis at HMP Millsike, a brand new state of the art Category C male prison in Full Sutton. HMP Millsike has capacity of nearly 1500 males, and houses inmates within 2 years of their release date.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.

This is a bank role offering flexible hours to cover additional need such as sickness and annual leave
Salary:
This position is offered on a bank basis and the hourly rate is 15.80

What you'll be doing
As our new Bank Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
• Work on the wings and in the healthcare department, running and assisting with clinics - bloods, wound care etc
• Work across all areas of care, including primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
• Respond to emergency situations as needed
• Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Our new Bank Healthcare Assistant will:

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in a healthcare environment - hospital, prison or within the community
• Have experience in phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care etc
• Although not essential, your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
