St Margaret's Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a

Bank Kitchen Assistant

to join our team.


You will join us on a casual basis, covering annual leave and absence at our Taunton Hospice. In return, you will receive a rate of

12.60 per hour plus 14% unsocial hours payments

. Shift patterns include evening working.

What can I expect to be doing?




Supporting the Catering Lead and working alongside catering volunteers, you will provide an efficient, flexible, and high-quality catering service to staff, patients and other visitors to our Taunton hospice.


Your day to day work will include:


Assisting the chef to prepare light lunches and other catering requests Delivering great customer service Keeping the kitchen area and utensils clean and tidy Developing good working relationships with staff, patients, volunteers, and visitors.

What skills and experience do I need?




You will need:


A good understanding of food hygiene procedures and allergens To communicate effectively with patients, families and staff, both verbally and in writin An understanding of food preparation and storage

This is a physical role and involves some manual handling of loads.


What qualifications and training do I need?




Training and guidance will be provided to support you in your role. However, it will really help if you have the following or are willing to work towards the achieving them within a month of joining the bank.


Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 Food Allergen and Intolerace training
