Bank Mental Health Nurse

Priory Hospital Kneesworth House is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team.



Located in Royston, Hertfordshire, within a purpose-built facility and spacious grounds, Priory Hospital Kneesworth House is a level 2 rehabilitation service, which provides a range of specialist recovery pathways, all at one site.


The hospital also provides acute and psychiatric intensive care, medium and low secure services, and bespoke therapeutic placements. Priory's acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
What you'll be doing


You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework. Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse. Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress. Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

What you'll bring to the role

A Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months' post-registration experience, holding active NMC registration and having completed a preceptorship programme, possesses thorough knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices. They demonstrate evidence of post-registration continuing professional development, a positive attitude, and a commitment to change, improvement, and quality. With the ability to develop and apply flexible and innovative approaches to practice, they bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. Their background includes a minimum of six months' experience in a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities care environment, supported by ongoing professional development in the relevant field.
